NFL DFS Preview:  Week 16

Each Friday, FindBet will preview the week’s DFS slate, highlighting players that are priced well on DFS sites, as well as some contrarian plays that can push your team to the top of the leader board.

Most NFL DFS games have you putting a team together with players from a certain slate of games. It could be just Sunday 1:00 PM games or it could be every game that is slated for the week. Once the last game that has eligible players is over, the final payouts are made according to how many fantasy points each team scored. Each player is worth a certain dollar amount, and you have a cap of $60,000 to build your team with. You have to have 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX (RB, WR, or TE) and 1 DEF.

The general scoring rules include (6) points for each rushing and receiving touchdown, (4) points for each passing touchdown, (0.1) points for each rushing and receiving yard gained, (0.04) points for each passing yard, and also (0.5) points for each reception. There are other scoring opportunities for defenses. Let’s take a look at players we like this week.

Players to Target:

Jalen Hurts (QB) – $8200

Hurts dazzled last week against Arizona and gets an even better matchup this week against the Cowboys in Dallas. Hurts should have no issue moving the ball against Dallas’ defense.

David Montgomery (RB) – $7800

I’ll gloat a little bit this week because Montgomery has been excellent the last 4 weeks and he’s been in multiple lineups for us during this hot streak. Chicago is in Jacksonville Sunday, and he should keep his streak going for a fifth consecutive week.

Malcom Brown (RB) – $5500

Brown may be a bit of a peculiar choice this week, but with Cam Akers out, and Brown’s seemingly knack to find the endzone against Seattle, I like taking a chance on him this week. Seattle’s defense has still been brutal, and division match ups always bring out the best in these two teams.

Jarvis Landry (WR) – $6500

Landry and the Browns offense have been rolling, and they get a Jets team fresh off their first win over the Rams. Landry has been a go to for Mayfield the past few weeks and he has a great chance to find the endzone this week.

Calvin Ridley (WR) – $8700

Ridley has been a monster this year. With another week without Julio Jones, going against the high powered KC offense, Ridley is a great option this week.

Keke Coutee (WR) – $6100

Coutee had his 2020 breakout last week. With the Texans getting the Bengals this week, Coutee is an under the radar sleeper who could pay off big dividends as a WR3 in lineups. We’ll take advantage of that this week while we’re building this entry.

Logan Thomas (TE) – $6000

Thomas is currently in the Top 10 for TEs in scoring this year, which is a massive surprise considering he has not put up any of that type of scoring in his career in the past. Alex Smith is on track to get back this week, and that raises Thomas’ stock even further.

Tyler Lockett (WR) – $6900

Jalen Ramsey will be all over DK Metcalf for most of the game, leaving an increased workload for Lockett. He is a solid play, even if it is against the #1 ranked pass defense in the NFL.

Philadelphia Eagles (DEF) – $4200

The one and only time we will pick the Eagles in this blog, but their match up this week warrants consideration at this price.
